Guys, Prolonged eye contact-attraction or just paranoia induced observations?

So a guy that works in a local store always seems to notice me walk by, he gives me prolonged eye contact but never speaks to me. He watches where I go whilst doing my errands but as soon as I'm in close proximity, he looks at everything but me. As soon as I come around the corner, he's there & his eyes find me immediately. For the past 3 years it's been that way. When I try to say hi or start a convo, he gets kinda nervous. Short responses. Anyway, I went in his shop a few days ago & bought a table. He joked about calling me at 6am to confirm delivery time. I just kinda laughed it off & suggested after 9am would be great. He did make small talk when he delivered the table but then quickly left. Following such, he has been actually saying hi when he sees me out shopping. So today I said in passing that the table is perfect & now he has my number, he can call me anytime. He just maintained eye contact through out the exchange & looked kinda surprised, like a "oh right" expression but no actual verbal response. So I'm guessing he had no idea that I give him prolonged eye contact & notice him watching me because I find him attractive. So now I'm thinking his past eye contact & observing was him thinking I look suspicious or something & feel like an utter idiot that I suggest he calls me anytime & I still have to walk past him daily to do my shopping. So do I just ignore his observations now? Guys, please explain what I'm doing wrong here? Lol

Sounds like he likes you but is nervous and guys can be thick sometimes, also he may no longer have the number (since it was a job related thing it was probably on a form that has to be turned in) yet doesn't want you to think he causally threw the number away. So approach him and say "I've been having some issues with my phone, so you mind if I borrow your phone for a moment to see if my calls are going through.. Or ask him for his number so you can see if out going calls are working. Either way he now has access to your phone number. And finish up by saying it was really nice talking to you I'd love to talk to you again even if it's only through texting or calling (wink, walk away)

A guy giving you prolonged eye contact may suggest that he finds you attractive, but that doesn't always mean that he finds you attractive enough to pursue. Men in general find many women attractive. Therefore It's likely the guy sees quite a few women that he does the same to, and finds even more attractive than you.

Women in general find fewer men attractive overall in their day to day activities. And this is probably part of why you want him to make a move...

Easy, he is worried you will reject him, so you will need to make the first move. This means being more direct.

See, I have no issues with telling a guy directly that I find him attractive but I have found in the past, it's always seemingly me that has to make the first move, which immediately puts me into the dominant role & then, said guys that do return said attraction, just treat me like a sure thing option... So honestly, having been single for some time now, I'd feel a lot more secure dating him (if he is attracted to me) if he made the first move, so I know for sure, he's genuinely interested in me, not just a casual fling he can toy with when he feels like it, if I appear keen.
