Of course! If I am a single guy, unless I live with my mother I have to pay a maid because I can't cook and always eat out because I can't cook? What kind of man am I if I can't do basic stuff alone? Am I 5 years old?
Besides is my partner my mother, my maid or both? She is neither, she is my partner! And as partners we both coock and clean.
Beisdes... Girls love a man that can cook. Already got lucky many times thanks to it.
I do household work because I‘m a bachelor and I OWN my place. But it looks like women spread their legs much less for guys who do chores. Check out this study ladies:
i hate how household chores are seen as something inferior. Everyone learns it at this point of time though. Learning to cook is a necessity, looking down on such activities doesn't speak very brightly of the person.
I can pay sb to clean now. But when I did not yet have the funds, cleaning was essential. What to say if the girl insists it's "your place" and your flat is a mess... well? Any excuses? I am listening!!! Also I want to have control over what I am to eat. My body is my temple and meals are quality time! I will not settle for some overboiled spaghetti carbonara just because she has only ever practised low-budged student meals...
ofcourse they should but i am 53 now and learned them as a kid so is this really a thing and if so isn't it more the case that noone learns how to look after themselves nowadays
I do dishes, vacuum, laundry and clean bathrooms so I think any guy is capable. Some will do it without asking, others you may need to mention it without nagging and I bet the guy would learn it and do it.
If he doesn't know them already he isn't a man but a child.
In the 4 years in a (top) military school - there were two things you had to learn - how to be sane with limited sleep, and how to keep the toilettes clean - hose it, brush it, don't make a mess if you like it clean - whatever the method, you have to live with it, go there whenever you need it.
It was a mess until... I'm not sure what happened, I took it seriously and then we maintained it clean
Honestly, I'm planning to do most of the cooking cleaning in my future relationship provided that the man will do most of the bread-winning.
But cleaning and cooking is a basic human skill so yes.
My father is the sole bread winner in my family, my mom cooks and cleans, but he's not a messy person. He knows how to cook and how to clean up after him. This makes it easier for my mom to do the core of the house chores (Eg he doesn't throw things around).
Where I'm from you're taught all those things when you're a kid. It's some of the most valuable life coaching you can get. It's also necessary to pass it on to your son. I was taught to take care of myself, feed myself, clean after myself.. A lesson no one can ever take from me. So yes it's necessary. Many people believe a man will become weak if he does, it actually makes him stronger and better.
Most women expect men to adhere to their gender roles. They expect men to be protectors, to be masculine, to be never be insecure, etc. Yet its only men that are chastised when they expect women to adhere to their gender roles and expect them to cook and clean?
Most men who've lived away from the childhood household know how to clean & cook. They sort of had to learn or they'd be living in their own filth & wasting all their money on takeout/fast foods/junk food to keep from starving to death.
The fuck kinda question is this? I know how to do all chores, I can do it then 90% of the women that "learn" it. Men already know how to do the household chores it just we don't cos nobody asks. It's not a fucking skill to clean it common knowledge you learn growing up fml 😂😂
Of course, just the same as gals should learn how to prep and paint a wall, and change a car tire. These are ALL needed skills in life, and life has a funny way of ignoring your sex most of the time when things need doing!
gender should not matter. its everyone's responsiblity to do such things. so everyone should learn how to do them. same applies to the thinking on yard work like mowing the lawn.

So what’s wrong with this picture? Don’t ask guys to do things that will make him less attractive ladies.
by the way I know that sounds cynical. I’m actually very clean and “accommodating” but I felt like it worked against me.

And those fancy-ass chefs make oddles of bucks, too, selling their cans of soup, and pot sets.
@Massageman not to mention that servants in the right house could be making more than an engineer.

Thank god the fellow men who have commented on here are modern..
I think the question should be why are we even asking this in the 21st century. Of course men should be able to look after themselves
Most men who've lived away from the childhood household know how to clean & cook. They sort of had to learn or they'd be living in their own filth & wasting all their money on takeout/fast foods/junk food to keep from starving to death.
yes, of course.
Being able to do chores/cook (i. e. live on your own) is a skill-set everyone should acquire, regardless of gender.

Should be taught from a young age. What if the man never gets married and ends up being single.
He needs to learn to take of his needs. Unless he is rich and can afford a maid and butler. Then he can be a lazy ass and say screw the world

Yeah bc unless your going from your parents stright into your wifes house, your going to starve and not know how a washing machine works.
Admittedly am a terrible cook, but i can use a microwave and make a curry.
Everyone should have basic domestic skills in my opinion (many dont these days)
Cooking, cleaning, basic first aid and basic sewing
yes of course, we all should. if he has a very demanding job and you don't, it's ok not to, and vice-versa
