I am wondering if my boyfriend loves me. Here are some things he does
My boyfriend never messages me first. I always have to message, call, or text him if I want to talk. He never makes effort to talk to me.
He never asks how I am and if I volunteer that information he tries to one up me. (I have a spinal cord disease and if I tell him about a doctor’s appointment or anything going on with me, he likes to remind me that he had back surgery and he is more hurt than I am.)
He doesn’t remember my birthday or our anniversary. For my birthday, I went to visit him and the entire visit he talked about himself, didn’t tell me happy birthday, didn’t even get me a card or anything. But for his birthday I go all out for him.
We live cities apart, but I always offer to go there and visit him because he works a lot and can’t always travel to see me. When I tell him I will come visit him, he tells me that he doesn’t know if he will meet me, it depends on if he is tired and wants to nap instead.
He always mentions other women at work and that they are so pretty and how much attention they give him. I shower him with love, gifts and attention but he likes it from more than just me I guess.
He always mentions that he wants to have me be with other people sexually even though he knows I won’t. (I was raped by two men when I was in my early twenties and I get anxiety and it triggers my PTSD at the thought of having more than one person with me.) I told him this in the beginning and that I’m not interested, but he brings it up a lot and nudges me saying, “you say no now, but maybe later you’ll give in.” It makes me sad because we both know I won’t. I have told him that if he needs that, then maybe I’m not right for him and he says that he loves me and wants to be with me, but he constantly brings it up.
Needless to say these behaviors and others make me question whether or not he truly loves me. How does this sound to you? Do you think he actually loves me? Thanks in advance.
