I spent 8 years cultivating a marriage that eventually ended. Very bad almost all the way through. While I was no saint, she was bat shit crazy. Our grown kids only talk to her when they have to.

I'm now married to the most wonderful woman I've ever met. I wish I had met here before I met my first wife. It would have saved me a lot of pain.

Maybe that's what they mean on a dating level. Just my personal experience.
