It was a pre-emptive action on his part to minimize any real or perceived misconduct on his part. If it was a sincere apology for a true accident, only time will tell. But DO keep an extemporaneous note about what happened - JIC.

But understand by making a big deal out of it, you will be MAKING A BIG DEAL OUT OF IT. That being said I mean causing him to read into your response. You seem more upset about the apology. think of the current enviroment involving any form of sexual harrasment. these days he could wind up jobless, homeless, and/or in jail over it. lessens the likelyhood of such by appologizing instead of pretending it did not happen. have appologized for simular things in yhe recent past because of this even though it was purely accidental.

He apologized because of many reasons, to save his own ass from a lawsuit, for you to know it was a mistake etc. As a guy you're better off apologizing even if the other person knows it was a mistake.
