Why haven’t my coworker apologized to me?

My coworker who is also my friend told me that the night shift worker was spreading a rumor about me but she told me not to say anything because she didn’t want to start drama.

I didn’t listen to her and i went up to the supervisor about the rumor and questioned him. And there is a rumor going around it’s about a woman who has the same name as me but it’s not me. So the night supervisor cleared up the confusion with the person who told me about the rumor and told her that it was about another girl with the same name as me. She told him she would apologize to me for the mix up but hasn’t said sorry yet… it’s been 2 days and she hasn’t spoken to me either

Does it really matter? What’s the rumour, and how does it affect you? Sounds like the friend who told you might be the one creating the drama, or perhaps it’s the supervisor not taking it seriously and hasn’t called out the employee. I’m sure there’s been plenty of rumours about me over the years, but I keep doing my job, being friendly to everyone, and they haven’t affected me, except maybe making me more well known and mysterious, which hasn’t been a bad thing.

I am sure it's a little awkward for the coworker. Maybe the coworker is waiting to have another shift with you to apologize? It's definitely something you do in person and not over text.
