Is it ok to be mad at my boyfriend for saying he would break up with me for his mom?

Me and my boyfriend were talking and the subject of how much he loves his mom came up he proceeds to say he loves her and would never hurt her and outright Blantly states “I would even literally break up with you for her bc I love her so much “ he was high but I remember when people are high or drunk they a lot of times mean what they say but he’s also called me harsh names out of anger on the past so I felt like he Meant it due to past sayings and then he tells me he was just joking which is his excuse for everything he says to me

Who "jokes" like that? Would you? Especially to someone you are supposed to care about. This goes beyond being mad in my opinion. First, did he explain that at all? Like in what circumstance/situation he would choose her over you? But regardless, you've got 3 reasons to break up with him and never speak to him again...1) that comment ("joking" or not, it's very hurtful and not something someone says) 2) he gets high 3) has called you harsh names in the past out of anger - signs of abuse. You are already getting verbal abuse. Will is escalate over time to physical abuse? This is how it starts. Personally I would get out of this relationship if I were you.

Thank you bc he’s called me toxic for asking him to wake up and talk to me he called me a psychopath for hugging him a lot after his friends kept telling me to kill myself so I thought I’d I was extra nice they’d stop he’s called me clingy due to wanting to spend time with him and he says I can talk to him two days out of the week bc he needs his space and he’s called me other names and other hurtful stuff and all in which he responds with I’m joking
