a lot of things
but I said “well if you liked me back you wouldn’t need me to prove I like you by doing all these things for you. I’ve dated broke guys before and I was never expected to give them money or pay for them I’m a woman I don’t feel like paying for a man”

1. If you have a habit of dating drunks or gambling losers then you're better off not dating. Giving them money won't help you or them.

2. If a man you love has skills and is good with money, then you will help him when he is having a rough time. There is no reason not to, unless you really love your partying and drinking more than seeing him happy.

I did that a few times and would do it again if my guy needs help or a boost for his work. That's how two people live. They share and help each other.

I would avoid giving any financial help unless I had good reason to trust the person or we were already a serious couple. It should not be a partner's expected role to pay for their SO. We are all adults and need to carry our own weight.
