That's a possibility however it's possible that going after a certain look in women for a period of time and it working out badly he may no longer go for a certain category of looks it's not all about outer appearance and a lot more people have figured it out he may be looking for more in the inter beauty in a person just ask him if you're concerned you may be surprised by the answer

Honestly it came across as pretty rude because he honestly isn’t my type I prefer taller guys with more hair on their heads but I would never say to a guy “that’s why I don’t go for looks” I guess you could be right. But it did hurt my feelings. It’s like he’s saying he’s out of my league or the girls he usually would go for where more attractive in some way

It's possible that he feels he's out of your league or that you are out of his league regardless nobody should just go for looks outer beauty isn't strong enough to make a long term relationship if he's not the type you find attractive and what he said is a problem then why drag yourself through the torment of trying to figure out exactly what he meant and move on and be happy

He lives very close to me, he goes to the same gym as me, he’s mixed race like myself, I am attracted to him, I do enjoy being around him. So to give that up just because he said something that I likely taken out of context and because he doesn’t fit the exact criteria of what I usually go for seems silly
