I don't really know if this question is directed towards me, but I'm gonna answer it anyway (I'm Black by the way). First of all, I'm not from the hood. I have plans of being a surgeon one day. Now if my future daughter brings home a guy that is from the "hood" I wouldn't discount him out. I would ask some questions about what he does after school/ what activities he enjoys/ who are his role models/ aspirations and so on and forth. Just because a guy comes from a poor background doesn't mean that he automatically be involved with thugs or affiliated with a local gang. If that was the case, then yes I would disapprove. However, if he was a decent young man caught in an unfortunate situation, then I would approve, and probably try to be a good role model for him to follow. Hopefully that makes sense.

He's from the hood? I've been to the hood so hell no. That's a different breed of people and it has nothing to do with their skin color. There are so ass end backward trailer parks full of white and brown people i wouldn't allow my kids to date either. Why? Well lets think drugs, illegal guns, and sexual assault are rampant in those areas for starters.

Just because someone is black does not automatically mean they live in the hood. It depends what his extracurricular activities were.

If he is a good guy, then yes, I'd allow my son/my daughter to date him. Ethnicity does not matter, but the guy's personality does
