How do I get to know a guy better?

So there's this guy at school, and I really want to get to know him. But he's in 9th and I'm in 10th, so we don't share any classes together. Also, I'm REALLY shy, and I rarely ever talk to guys. Any ideas?

So is this guy shy too? Does he talk much or go outside his own friend circle? If he's a junior, you could talk under the pretense of "showing him the ropes" a bit, or welcoming him to the school. I promise he would really appreciate that and at least you might get a new friend :)

He's a new student, but he has some friends. Plus I have this tendency to just avoid him for some reason. Like one day I was next to him, and he held the door, but I went through the other door instead. I don't why I do that.

Haha it's just shyness I did the same stupid shit when I was younger. Sounds like he's a gentleman though :)

I would try your best to just psych yourself up to talk to him the next time you see him alone, maybe by the lockers or something. Just introduce yourself and ask him how he likes the school. I know it's nerve racking but I promise he'd be super flattered that you're talking to him. Think you could do it?

Maybe dressing up a bit could make you feel more confident too. I have some ideas depending on how bold you wanna be
