Guys, Does I’m not ready for a relationship really just mean not with you?

I don’t understand how some guys can text you everyday pretend to like you make you think you’re getting somewhere and then randomly hit you with “I’m not ready for a relationship right now” but say “let’s just be friends and see where this goes” which in my experience just means just looking for a friends with benefits..

I'd say that 60% of the time, it means exactly what it says, and about 40% of the time, it means "just not with you." Either way, if what you want is a relationship, and you hear this, just move on, because you aren't going to get it from him - EVER - even if you have sex with him. If you're down to be friends with benefits, then that's fine too, but don't fool yourself into believing that he's going to change his mind and give you a relationship. 99.99% of the time, that won't happen.
