Is this true that when someone/something sounds too good to be true, you should be weary?

Isn't this suspicious? For example, when a guy invites a girl to his house to move in, while they've never met in real life and have only been talking for a short time online they're probably after something. They certainly didn't find the love of their life suddenly, or doing it for her kind and intelligent personality
