Is it weird to you guys if someone likes you when they are 10 years older?

There's this guy who's 36 years old and I'm 26. He has the biggest crush on me and tries desperately to date me. I keep saying no everytime and he can't understand why I won't date him. He keeps asking me and it's getting really annoying. I keep telling him that we are only friends and he won't take the hint

Okay you say 'take the hint', so have you verbally told him 'no'? I will assume you have which leads to the question of why you are in a friendship with the guy. It's not cool to stay friends with someone you know likes you when you clearly don't. It's call attention/validation seeking, leading him on, etc.

My mom and dad had 9.5 years difference. That's not the problem. If he annoys you even after repeated rejections, that's a problem.

It sounds like you rejected him not just because of the age. But it's alright. It's your choice. Plus he doesn't sound like a healthy individual either.

The age difference is not the problem here. The problem is that he’s not taking no for an answer. You need to tell him “No. i will not change my mind so don’t bring it up again.” And if he brings it up again a firm “F*** off” is called for.

Seems pretty normal. Many men date women younger and many women date men older. Even 10 or more years

Yes but if you did in fact say that you're just friends that's the problem. he perceives that is still having a chance and will keep trying.
