Guys, a guy's friends say he likes me, but he denies it. What should I believe?

14F here. I had a teeny tiny bit of crush on a guy a few months back, but we never really talked much and I heard from someone that he's got a girlfriend, so I didn't even try. Recently, I've become close to his best friend and she told me that he's never had a girlfriend before. His best friend and two of his close friends recently told me that he called me very cute, said that my hair looks fluffy, that I have a model-like body, and also that he got jealous because once I talked about a boy with him. I was flattered and asked him about it directly. He got red as a tomato and started laughing and blushing until he finally denied saying all of that. He also asked for my phone number once and when his best friend sent it to him on Snapchat, he saved the snap (his bsf sent me the screen recording). So I've started talking to him more nowadays, and I was talking about another guy with my friend in front of him and he suddenly got very quiet and silent. My friend teased him "So sad, (my name) likes someone else." Usually, when someone teases him about me, he denies it, but back then, he didn't even bother responding. Later he texted his bsf "Why does (my name) talk about other guys around me?"

Whenever I wave at him in school he blushes and waves back. He has a lot of other girl friends and he's never that shy with them.
He always denies liking me but his actions say otherwise. His bsf told me that he said he has a "special liking" towards me. She also said that he's very shy with girls he likes and is not at all straightforward. Also, I understand his reaction because if one of my friends told any guy I like that I have a crush on him, then I'd probably have the same reaction. So yeah what do you guys think? Does he like me? All the signs would've convinced me that he does like me, but he keeps repeatedly denying it. He's also really sweet to every single girl, so I'm not sure what to believe.

He's young, shy and inexperienced. The last thing this type of person wants is to be confronted with something that might open a door to ridicule or rejection. He doesn't know whether he can trust you. There are too many people who set others up by getting them to admit to feelings and then ridiculing them.

Just be friendly, kind and consistent toward him. Don't pressure him to make any declaration. If he says or does something that impresses you, let him know what it was that impressed you. Though girls like being noticed for how they look, guys generally prefer being noticed for what they say or do. He's got a lot of adolescence ahead of him, making significant change likely, so don't hold your breath, but you could develop a special friendship with him. No one can predict the future, but here is an opportunity to practice being kind, considerate and respectful.

I think his friends are a much more reliable source than the internet. They actually know who he is and how he acts, so if they think he likes you then that is the best and by far most reliable answer you’ll get.
