Not really... it's a machismo, male-provider thing. A lot of guys feel a social obligation to dote on and take care of women in their lives. They feel that obligation to the point of being uncomfortable with women returning the favor.

In my personal opinion, there's some stuff that just looks worse if you don't roll with it. It's a gift, my dude, just shut up and accept it. That woman likes you enough to show you a token of her appreciation, just let her dote on you.
