Been talking to him for over a year. He knows I like to video call for ten seconds to say goodnight sometimes.

He said goodnight on text, so I called to say goodnight quickly.

He rejected the call and got angry cause he’s sleeping. Yet spent a further five minutes online.

I know everyone needs their space, but it’s not as though I was going to have a video call chat. I only ever say night. He will online again later, I know him well.

Not going to lie, that kind of thing would really get on my nerves. Routine bedtime calling when you know he doesn't like it? I appreciate it may help your anxiety, but I feel there has to be a better healthier way to help then that. Once in a while maybe once a week for sure okay I can put up with doing something I don't want to do, to make you happier, but every day is way too often in my opinion. I, and probably your partner need our own space, especially before bed.

How often do you talk? I know I struggled with my ex as she wanted to talk with me all the time, where as I'm a check in that you are okay every now and then person, but will make a big effort to come and see you. I tried to talk every day, but I just found I had nothing to say and I lost motivation to make that big effort.

Had I been more mature at the time I could possibly have found a middle ground, but I kept my feelings to myself and we never solved it.

Speak to him, see how he feels and if he isn't mature enough to respect your feelings after you try and respect his, I would consider leaving. Find someone who is closer to your wavelength and that can make you happy.

The reason I hesitate is because I have anxiety. So I don’t want to be overly sensitive about every tiny detail. You understand? If it’s my fault I will own it. Does he talk to me? Yes. But it took a year of asking for communication. You don’t need to ask a guy to be interested. They just are or are not. When he does answer the phone he is quick to say goodbye
