I was excited about electric cars but the more you know about them the worse they sound. The cost of replacement batteries is really expensive and I am somebody who keeps vehicles for a long time so I might go through 2 or 3 batteries. Electric cars perform better than gas powered cars. Going from 0 to 60 in 3 seconds is common. Still, the range and the cost of batteries and the cost of recycling batteries will be really high. A lot of people will bury the battery in their back yard or just dump it in the woods to save the 1500-3000 dollars it will cost to recycle these batteries. The lead and other heavy metals will leach into the soil and end up in the water table.
