What does it mean if my guy friend want to go swimming with me?

We were texting last night and he suggested that we eventually go swimming in an ocean, and I could choose the beach. For context, we have been friends for about seven years, and we have done some activities together like kayaking, thrift shopping, and eating out (casual places, nothing fancy).
