Why would he say this?

This guy was just asking to hang out with me and I made a joke and he said ‘Jesus Christ you’re not even fucking funny’ with a big smile on his face. I have crush on him so it kinda hurts and now I’m like crying my eyes out. He was literally just asking to hang out with me and I don’t get it. Is he being mean to me cause he likes me?

I think he feels bad now because I replied and said ‘you’re not much funnier’ and he switched back to just typing instead of sending a voice chats and said ‘I am’. So I said ‘ I’m sensitive’ and he replied back ‘ik’. I think he feels bad but I’m keeping the conversation going.

People are not mean if they like you and if they are then that is not a way to get someone to like you. In fact many times when it is because they like it you it's because they either don't want to like you or are embarrassed they like you... which is wrong but.

If he said it meanly then he does not sound like someone you need to be around. Especially if he knows he upset you and never even said sorry.

I mean people make jokes all the time I don't find funny but I don't say something like that some people obviously find them funny but... I never say that. Unless it is really mean.

But since he wants to blaspheme Jesus he better repent!!!

I'm honestly not sure. I don't want to potentially dissuade you from seeing him if I happen to be wrong but to me he just seems like an unfiltered asshole. That being said, sometimes younger guys get anxious and say things they don't truly mean in some weird attempt at sounding cool, or to hide their feelings of anxiousness.

Well we met a year ago and I jokingly pat him down for weapons cause he looked like a eshay. So we were talking about that and I told about a joke I made to my stepdad. My stepdad was talking about how girls legally can’t pat down guys and I winked at my stepdad and said ‘I’ve done some patting down’ because it’s a joke between my stepdad and I since he found out I pat that guy down. So the guy said ‘you’re not even fucking funny’

He asked you to hang out; that means he declared to you that he is attracted to you and would like to spend more time with you. If it took him a year to get to that point, it seems that he may be shy and confessing his interest may have been quite a big step for him.

Then, instead of you immediately responding and telling him that you are flattered and you would like to spend more time with him, you make a joke. He may have felt that you were either dismissing his expression of his feelings or were trying to avoid responding and that may have felt like a rejection. That's a guy's perspective.

Sorry it didn’t happen like that. I said he should tell me when he’s down my way and we’ll hang out for sure. Then we were talking about the last time we hung out and I told him an inside joke between my stepdad and I which was to do with the time I patted that guy down to ‘check’ for ‘weapons’. Then he told me I wasn’t funny with a big smile on his face.
