Why would he say this?

Last weekend we (my boyfriend of 5 years and I) hosted a Friendsgiving at ours and my boyfriend and his best friend got pretty drunk my boyfriend passed out in our bed and as I was helping his friend into our guest room he tells me he has always had a thing for me and that he hopes one day I find out about the times my boyfriend cheated on me and the passed out cold once in the bed. I’ve been debating about asking my boyfriend about what his friend said but I just don’t know. I don’t have any other reason to believe him but this week I just found out that I’m pregnant and I don’t want to get stuck somewhere with someone that has been unfaithful to me. Why do you think his best friend would say that? Should I believe him since “a drunk mind speaks sober thoughts”?

Woah, that's messed up if it's true. But you also can't know for sure if his friend was just talking crap cause he was drunk. If you've been with your boyfriend for 5 years and everything's been good otherwise, I don't know if I'd believe some random thing a drunk guy said. People say all sortsa stuff when they're wasted.

As for why he mighta said it... some possibilities - he could been jealous of your guy for a long time and wanted to stir up trouble. Or maybeeee there was some truth and your boyfriend did cheat, and the friend feels guilty keeping it secret. Or he's just into you and was trying some messed up moves since you were helping him to bed. Hard to know for sure.

I'd say don't panic yet, but definitely keep your eyes open. Maybe have an honest talk with your boyfriend when you tell him about the baby, see how he reacts. See if anything in his behavior seems off. And keep your friend at a distance - who knows what other crap he might pull. Congrats on the kid! Just be careful and trust your gut on this one.
