I think honestly, despite you’re not dating, he probably cares a lot about you… it’s quite a demanding travel and it shows openly his care about you! You’re not dating but I think there’s at least a good sentiment basis, since he wouldn’t do this “for free” (I’m not saying he necessarily expects something in return but he sure wants to see you).
