How do you deal with nasty users or people irl or online?

I was at this salad bowl place and a guy was being super rude to the workers and another guy with a dog in a baby carrier strapped to his chest turns around and says, "Being an asshole won't make you taller."This is the most alive I've felt in a long time/✌️🙃

IRL I confront people. On here, some users I know they are very racist against Whites and/or sexist against men so I often just ignore their opinions altogether. A couple I had to block because they would follow me around to other unrelated topics/questions because they hated me so much. Many more people are brave online when talking BS, but are cowardly IRL.
