How do I turn down a guys number I don’t know in my class without making it awkward?

A mutual friend in one of my classes who I’ve never talked to told my friend he was going to ask for me number Tuesday. I’ve never talked to him, from what I know he skips a lot and he’s pretty disruptive. My friend told him I’d say yes. I told her sure haphazardly not knowing she’d tell him but now I don’t want to anymore after thinking it over. How can I reject him without making it awkward when he sits like 2 seats away from me?

I mean it was but now I have 1 of his friends, my friend, and him expecting me to give him my number on Tuesday.

If he’s too immature or otherwise not ready to approach you for something as simple as a phone number, how mature or ready is he to be in a relationship with another person? A relationship in a romantic sense is significantly different from a platonic sense.

I understand that at your at his age, it is a lot different getting into and out of relationships than it isn’t mine, but I think it’s strongly foreshadowing of what any future relationship would look like if he’s too afraid of you to talk to you.

The fake number thing won’t work because he sits 2 seats away from me. I see him everyday I’ve just never talked to him. Like I said in the question he skips class a lot, is disruptive, doesn’t take school seriously and had 2 third parties approach me. I don’t find that attractive honestly

Ooh, I got it. Gosh, why did you friend do that without telling you? 😂 Asking your number, without talking to you but seeing you everyday is really awkward.
You can just tell him that you don't give your number to anyone and it's personal, or "Okay, but I'm just looking for friends" haha or you can just say, “Thanks for asking, but I'm not interested..” but of course in a nice way. It can hurt for some time, but he will eventually move on.. 😉

He’s in my class but I’ve never spoken to him. His friends say he’s smart but I’ve seen him be disruptive and skip class on multiple occasions myself, I’m not attracted to that
