Tell him that you understand that he is financially stressed. Let him know you don’t need money from him, gifts or anything that cost money right now. That may be what he is stressed out about. Providing for the one he loves. And then telling him you will leave while he is struggling is making you (possibly) a gold digger in his eyes. Let him know you want the attention. That is what is important to you. But also let him know if he needs to work then you understand that also but want his attention when he isn’t working. You will become his new hero and he will (should) love you even more for that. Just make sure to give him his space to make money and work and be understanding yourself. But you let him know he needs to flirt with you more.
