When I asked will you go with this promotion he promised no and said it’s just more money for us

Then he started to get weird about things that were fine before. We started arguing and he just left

I don't know, when you’re equating your worth to his promotion (as your title suggests) then it’s hard to believe that the argument didn’t derive from a tantrum, or you being upset. Otherwise you’re saying you asked about it and he lashed out, in which case I don't know why you’d be with someone like that.
