Guy's Behavior

I was minding my own business & thought of him as a friend only... what is going on?

A guy I've known since August, was spending hours with me each day & then asked to go for dinner. Life happened & this was postponed. Last week, we rekindled our conversation & we had arranged specific details to go on this dinner. I then asked out of curiosity, why he was not in a relationship with someone as he's so lovely. He then broke & told me he had starting seeing his ex-girlfriend in the last few weeks. They hadn't defined what they were doing other than sleeping together. If they had no history, he'd have said there was no one. He had been gunning after me as we had been flirting & he felt there was something between us for months & wanted to know if I shared these sentiments. He said he wanted to do the right thing and we agreed to backtrack some (not meet for now)... although from his behaviour, he's finding this hard. This is not the first man to do this with me. How do these guys regard me to act like this?
