Do guys like when girls write them things such as poems, letters or songs?

I like to write sometimes and I thought of writing something sweet for my boyfriend when he comes home from being on the ship since he's in the navy. I already got home cologne for Christmas. Is it a good idea?

I think it's cute. And a good idea whether he appreciates it or not. Sometimes we don't always understand FULLY what our partners need, want, or think. A SMART guy would do well to listen if this is written from the heart. At the VERY least he should appreciate the effort.

Honestly it's a way I express myself through writing with words of affirmation as a love language and physical touch as well. Also thank you! I write from the bottom of my heart whenever I put my thoughts in a form of poetry, letters, or music:)

But I'd have to know HIM to know how much he's appreciate it. That's why I said, "We don't always understand what our partners need, want or mean". I guess what I'm saying is it'll all come down to what kind of guy he is. When I was 24 I probably wouldn't have seen the significance of a handwritten gift. But I was kind of stupid relationship wise at 24. 🤣
My brother in law wrote his wife a song and she laughed at him. And I know you're thinking "that's mean". And it kind of is. But I promise you my sister is not a mean person.
I'm trying to illustrate that you never know how someone is going to respond. That doesn't mean it's NOT a great gift. That's what I want you to understand. Whether he likes it or not a gift FROM THE HEART is ALWAYS the best kind.

My girl painted snowflakes with little love notes on them and I loved it. If a girl takes the time out of her day to make something for me or write a poem. It makes me feel cared about
