When I need to stop peeing before I'm finished, I contract the muscles in my penis that control the flow of pee. The pee goes from a steady stream to a thin sprinkle to completely stopping in about 5 seconds or so.

A guy can't stop instantaneously, like in less than a few seconds. It's not a water faucet.

Under normal circumstances (i. e., you don't have to pee super bad), stopping isn't a problem, but if you've been holding it a good while and you really have to go, then it's nearly impossible to stop once you start, at least until most of the pressure on your bladder is relieved.

No. I don't think that's possible. You can close it a little, but you can't completely stop mid-pee.

It's difficult if the volume is high, but I can usually stop, yes. The hard part is often being able to resume urinating again after pausing.
