Is it true that, no matter where a guy is in his life; if he is shy, confident, outgoing, a player, a hermit. Anything. If he really likes you, he will take the lead and do anything to get you? Or is that a myth? Are men somewhat similar to women or are they naturally inclined to go after who they want, no matter what?

80% of men will NEVER approach a female no matter what. She will have to make the first move.
10% of men will only approach when the situation is absolutely optimal and guaranteed
And then there is the 10% of men who will approach every female no matter what because they do not care what she thinks or says and will move on to the next girl if rejected.
This last 10% is the assholes and douchebags that girls end up with and complain about all because they (girls) are to lazy to make the first move themselves.

One man's shy remark is another's aggressive chase and run-down. Men will make an effort but small moves are all that some can do, especially in this era of everything being potential sexual harassment.

In college, I met one of the most beautiful girls I'd ever seen, and the best that I could do was write a note to her. I'm not the aggressive or dominant type unless she's already mine. And some men are never pursuers.

Well there are some shy guys who would never go out of their comfort zone no matter what... But there are also many shy guys who would do it if they really like you... usually when it's too late tho but, still... If you're talking about when a guy REALLY likes you... Thinks you're the babe... yeah he'll basically do anything to get you...

Maybe to some extent. I am extremely shy myself and it took me a long time to try to ask out my crush. So outside influences may have pushed to do so.
