Will a shy guy deny he likes you even if he really does?

So there is this guy I've liked for about a month and he is super shy. I've tried talking to him and he usually doesn't say much. He will stare at the ground and give like one or two word answers. He also seems to be around me a lot and i have caught him staring at me in class and then he will look away quickly. I put my number in his locker and i didn't say i liked him that way but just that i wanted to get to know him. He didn't text me so i talked to him the next daty and he said he didn't like me like. I just said i didn't mean it that way (even though i did) and that i just wanted to get to know him. He said that is okay and sorry for being shy tht he doesn't always know what to say. The next day though he had a conversation with me and made eye contact and everything and contributed to it but then went right back to the one answer thing again. What is going on with him? Does he like me and just said he didn't because he was scaredd? HELP ME!!! Please:)

Okay so we are still at the small talk stage i guess in our little situatuation. The other day i said something and he seriosuly was pausing and wasnlike ummm ummmm the whole time lol. Also i caught him stating at me for like 10 mins straight:)

Oh lord, you have got to get out of the habbit of over-anylyzing and anylyzing men. I stoped doing that a long time ago. I decided that I am a mature grown woman and I know how to speak to people like an adult. I refuse to play mind games with people. If someone can not speak to me like an adult then i go about my day just fine.
I like having this attitude too because it makes life less complicated. i met the guy who was right for me by having this attitude. He too does not agree with mind games and is a firm beliver that actual real communication and expressing yourself is the only way someone is gonna know what is on your mind because neither of us has psychic powers.

i also learned that you should never try to change someone. ever! becasue it will always backfire. If you want a guy who knows how to commicate with you like an adult Then dont go after the guy who is not that and try to make him into that. Or if you want a guy that wants love and commitment Then dont go after the guy that wants to have sex with every girl and try to make him love you. People just dont work like that.

Ik but he is shy so it is hard to always know how he feels. He is perfectly fine once he gets to know you but until he gets to that point it is hard to always know what to do:/

It takes awhile to bring a shy guy out of his shell. It's a really good sign that he made eye contact and contributed to the conversation, even if he went back to being shy. Just keep working on getting him comfortable with you. Eventually he'll fully trust you and talk to you the same as anyone else would. Then ask again.
