I'm all kind and nice, and helpful... agreeable for the most part, never a forceful one nor imposing or demanding
but that's until they mess with someone I care for... then that can turn into some sort of John Wick situation, lmao
best to get along with Nathan... so John never has to come out and do what it takes
besides that, another time is very true... hard times can create a lot of hardened men, but many of these are hardened on the surface, and that is to shield a broken, fragile and vulnerable ego that is actually very weakened and many times as well, unpredictable
and this is why the suicide rates among soldiers, which are the ones facing some of the truest and and grueling hardship end up as they do
Well actually the suicide rate for our combat veteran's are actually committing suicide because our government refuses to take care of them & allows them to suffer meanwhile we hand over billions to Ukraine & undocumented citizens for housing, and free healthcare but skidrow and all the other HUGE homeless encampments in the US is mostly filled with vets.
You ever been to a VA? You should check them out and see how many guys are getting help and being kicked out and arrested for complaining. Which is why today more combat vets have built more outreach centers but it still hasn't even hit the tip of the iceberg.
Just look at the VA lawsuits today lol or just Google "VA is not helping veteran's"
Build them up to fight then says to hell with you, and your experience won't transfer really anywhere. That's why I'm glad I never chose a combat job when I got out of highschool & joined Army. But I respect all all combat guys 100%
www.latimes.com/.../veterans-healthcare-denied-access
@Fuentes yes, I am aware.. but PTSD and other issues do happen during combat and the hardest times of combat
after those facts, they are literally abandoned by the old men who sent the youngsters there, so yes, I know that suicide rates are mostly because of neglect because our congress sees soldiers as disposable units rather than human beings
I didn't mean to disrespect any soldier, just pointing out the truth that in order to give your life to combat, you also have to give most of your soul and your sanity away, that is the reality
and I know very well because in my family, relatives... those who are the most Texan can go back to every war, even before Texas was Texas itself, lol
they lost a few souls to the Vietnam fiasco, and more recently Irak and Afghanistan, so after that... my grandma said not one more, anymore... which is part of why I did not join the Navy, at the end
I know you wasn't being disrespectful lol I'm just stating some facts that, of the reason why it's super high in the community lol but we're on the same page, just some people really think that the gov takes care of them and they do not, just look at whose in the homeless encampments lol your good bro I'm not tripping just sharing facts lol
@Fuentes "VA to get $300B, its biggest budget ever, under federal spending deal"
"The Department of Veterans Affairs budget would top $300 billion for the first time ever in fiscal 2023 under the federal government appropriations plan unveiled by congressional negotiators on Tuesday.
The $1.7 trillion omnibus appropriations bill that lawmakers hope to finalize later this week includes $303.8 billion in VA funding for fiscal 2023, the largest ever for the department. That’s up about 10% from fiscal 2022 levels."
www.militarytimes.com/.../
@goaded the main problem is not exactly money... everyone knows the USA has a lot of money
the problem is that Veterans do not have access to it... there is over 100,000 pending claims and requests for assistance, and there is government who tells "no, you have to wait" and their requests for help go to a backlog of again 100,000 different cases which by the way
there is only around 100 lawyers available to review these cases... so you go ahead and do the math
100 for 100,000
that is neglecting the veterans and that is also telling them "we have money but not for you, go away" and yes, veterans do go away instead of waiting forever and for nothing really and then we lose them to suicide
@NathanDavis EXACTLY Thank you this guy is like pro government lol and thinks they're actually spending the fundings Towards the people lol but refuses to look at the homeless problem & suicide rates that DEBUNK that these guys are actually being taken care of and looked out for.
@Fuentes @NathanDavis Apologies, I thought there was a partisan attack in there somewhere.
I remembered a counter to that argument that cropped up a while ago.
"An obsession with “hard” masculinity is a very old trope, but one that continues to plague us. It’s often supported by facile historical comparisons that fall apart upon closer inspection, but it remains one of the most reliable tools for manipulating men into a whole array of harmful behaviors."

Meh, I think there's too many guys who wanna think of themselves as an action movie hero. And there's a whole industry on youtube to pander to those guys and tell them how everything was better in the past. Being stoic and being ready for a conflict if that's all you have to offer as a person and that's all you think a man is supposed to be it's kinda sad. Isn't it more a sign that these guys can't adapt to the times? Shouldn't a man be able to flourish and find happiness no matter what the world around him looks like? I'm gonna do creative things with my life and idc what people think about it. We live in a time where you can do almost anything with your life if you try hard enough and if some people want to waste that by holding on to their gun and wishing for ww3 then that's their choice but I'm not going to be one of them.
It's not false. There's more to it than that. I get the feeling, that this loop is repeating itself at a rather fast pace and not slowly. We have strong and weak men simultaneously at present.
This is confirmed considering the historical events, that have occurred.
WW 1 & 2, the great depression, cold wars, financial collapse 2008, bird/swine flu, covid-19, russia invading ukraine resulting in a war in ukraine (for now), energy and gas crisis and global food shortages, crypto collapse and there will be more.
We don't have exactly hard times because we are not threatened by feral wolves, hostile tribes, open environment with natural disasters, nor do we have shelling directly in our homes, neighborhoods or vicinity. I have survived without running water, toilets and sanitary utilities before. Would not do it again.
I agree I do think men need to suffer through something to become a hard man, whether it's small or tough men should not be weak lol and causing problems for others.
Since Cave Man days the man had to hunt & protect his family from animals looking to eat them it was never the other way around.
True to an extent, but hard times aren't the same all around.
I don't know anybody in my peer group that had the same date dickenson hard knocks childhood I had in this age.
I also haven't met anyone who was on one hand called gifted, and on the other hand so deprived of educational opportunity. I just kind of fell through the cracks in the system.
I suppose that we might face the trials we face for a reason. While I'm not best pleased with some of what I've endured, I like to think I might have found a little bit of rare wisdom in it.
I'm always the one guy in the room full of blue collar types that might quote a famous poem or scientific article, or the only guy in a room full of corporate suits that knows how to mix a drink and fix a broken down car.
Just kind of the black sheep for good or for ill.
Hard to say. Luck of the draw, pieces fell where they did, dominos fell exactly in their path.
Every time I get ahead something always happens to push me back 2 steps. But that's what we call life. Also people who are more well off than me get all the help and someone like me who look for change in parkinglots get told you make to much money.
That question is all relative
A pair of boobs create more hard men than not.
LOL. how do they do that/?
Do I need to draw you a picture?
Can you draw?
I feel like you added a layer, but generally i agree.
Just copied what Joe said from the beginning of the video.
I didn’t watch the vid, but Rogan smokes pot. I respect that dude more than most, but pot doesn’t guarantee the best performance. Ell oh ell!
Thanks for the comments.
I feel like that’s your patent response when you disagree now. I’m prolly wrong cuz i don’t know you at all, but between seeing this multiple times and your “keep G@G friendly” post it feels like you’re holding back.
Since you didn’t really say. Do YOU agree with the statement you posted and/or Joe Rogan?
Sorry man I get like 10 notifications a minute sometimes on all my posts. I just don't have anything else to add. I don't care if joe rogan smokes pot and there was no question there so... just trying to get to everyone.
Oh, shit! Just remember…. it’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice! Ell oh ell!
You don’t have to respond to me at all. That’s not why i do this. Take a breather instead.
Most times I don't respond to you whether I agree or not because you give really good opinions. No sense in arguing a point when you make sense.
I would actually argue that it’s counterintuitive from your perspective. If you’re looking for maximum participation with minimum controversy, it’s best to appear to have no opinion. Especially given your experience with trolls and doxxers. Do your thing, man. Stay safe.
lol thanks
Definitely true. The proliferation of things like modern feminism and other liberal silliness was made possible by the good times created for all of us by the greatest generation, and those liberal influences have definitely created a very "soft" western population, including men. We are definitely in for some hard times ahead, and during hard times feminism will disappear in a heartbeat, as it did in Ukraine.
Untreated trauma sure makes people "hard" and guarded, and "hard times" indicates a level of stress and constant retraumatising. You can't heal from trauma if you're in the same environment that caused it.
Every man must be broken down at some point and continue the process to grow better and stronger, so yes.
I hate it… but it’s true!! They say it’s an every couple hundred year cycle. So maybe our grandkids will get on top of this shit.
There might be SOME truth to this. But there's a lot of other variables. I think to just say that is too simplistic.
We're listening. Tell us.
I'm not going to go into some long drawn out explanation. Suffice it to say the economy has been that simple.
Has NEVER been that simple*
Ok thanks for the comments.
I think I know what you're driving at. Yes, we are getting softer as a society.
No, that's not true at all, even though it may be one of those beliefs that many accept, although most who do probably do so without thinking too deeply about it.
I believe there is a lot of truth to that. There is a positive correlation but it is not 100% true.
Which part isn't true?
Yes you can always find exceptions so why say it? Why use it in the comment at all? It's like people on GAG saying well "Not all men" well "you can't say everyone" ... I never said it's 100% true I just asked if you agreed. Why do people like yourself add such a meaningless statement to their opinions? Should I put in every question just so you know it's not 100% true lol It baffles me.
Because I wanted to know specifically what you thought wasn’t true. Doesn’t mean I’m saying you’re wrong
A problem with the English language, is can be interpreted in different ways. I was going to say the correlation is less than 1 which almost everything is. However, I though many people would not know what a correlation of 1 is so I said it is not 100% true. You interpreted not 100% true as some parts are true but at least one part is not true and that was not my intent.
Yeah so ya don’t know? Lol ok thanks for the comments
Soft men create hard times... yep, just look at trumps time in office
Yeah, I pretty much agree. But there is good and bad to being harder or softer.
Well, that’s a mouthful.
way to go to keep it simple.
Sounds like crackerjack philosophy
Lol could be could be
Anyone who disagrees with that obviously true statement is being dishonest, mostly with themselves. History has shown it to be true over and over again.
We are seeing the weak men create hard times before our eyes.
Hard times CAN create hard men, as long as they're dedicated to growing from the experience and never breaking
If Joe Rogan says it then it's wrong, that guy is a turd with a capital T.
Oh okay well if you say so I guess it's true.
LOL.
This has to be some form of brain gRape
