It shouldn't be a big deal, yet many guys are deathly afraid of somehow "turning gay." Some even get incredibly defensive if they're perceived as such.
I kinda get it. I mean, I'm not scared I'll "turn gay," I've been mistaken for or called gay a lot, and it never turned me gay. I'm pretty confident I'm not gonna suddenly change. But I do understand being scared how people will treat you if they think you're gay. I've rarely been in a danger because people thought I was straight and cis. It's a weird world but, it can be a defense even if you are gay, to appear straight. You have people who are gay, in the closet, waiting for a safe time to come out. There's people who are scared you would hate them if you thought they were gay. That kind if fear I can sympathize with.
What I find more silly is straight men (or gay men in denial) who are scared being gay will make them bad people. Or failures as men. Or go to hell. Or a woman, or something. Being seen as gay doesn't make you gay, obviously. But actually being gay also doesn't make you a bad person. It's just homophobia.

I do not think a true heterosexual male is afraid of being turned into a gay man. But it is very insulting to be called gay when you are not. It's like telling a man that he acts like a woman, or that you perceive him as a lesser man. It's completely disrespectful of a heterosexual man to accuse him or call him gay.
Would call a gay man a hetero? Or say that just because he is gay, you know he is really not gay and just pretending to be gay? No, you would not because he is gay and that would be rude and wrong.
Would you insist that a trans male is not really a woman or man? No that would be very disrespectful and rude. I mean you would not say it out load to their face, right?

I would guess for a couple reasons. The big one being that society is far less accepting of male sexuality. At least in the U. s. and I would expect much of western Europe if not the world. As to other reasons I could see include, being more likely to be "friendzoned" by women/ not being considered for romantic partnerships, other men perceiving you as a possible predator (similar to how women often react to men as possible threats), and the perception of being weak/ submissive as straight men are typically dominant in the bedroom which doesn't work as well when there are two men involved. I'm sure I could come up with others, but I think the first one is the biggest.
I don't know but I hate it when people misconstrue me as gay. I'm not, and never have been, and it's an insult to my masculinity.
My buddy and I were talking last night I got so annoyed with the accusation that I made him fuck me in the ass just to show him how flaccid I was the whole time. I mean sure my prostate was hit hard enough for me to fire a load but that shit happens whenever stuff gets pushed up there.
Gays are far less accepted than lesbians, and gays tend to be seen as unmasculine.
I prefer a real natural woman with not tattoos not plastic surgery. Like the feel of a real female just my preference has nothing about afraid
I am 100% straight. I am not afraid of being gay, it just is not my cup of tea. I love fucking women, making them cum.
I think it might just be their insecurity and in some cases they might be uneducated/ignorant about life
Because sodomy is disgusting and so is homosexuality. It’s one of the most vile, repugnant acts that one could commit.
There isn't any way to just turn gay. I could care less if someone says that about me
Men are not afraid of turning gay. We just don't like being called something we're not.
Because they can't come to terms with the fact they have gay tendencies themselves.
I don't think people just turn gay.
Guys be judgy.
