Why are some guys, players or “attention whores like this? Does this even indicate that a guy is a player?

Genuineness is an interpretation and more so a reputation. Do you know anyone who can testify to his character? A lot of players can lie very well and make you feel good about him. The best way to go here is to look at his friends. If the friends are known players then he is too. That's life...

I think the older guys get the less friends they have. He’s an artist and seems very family oriented. His friends are also artist. The are a bit older.

Maybe I shouldn’t call him a player I don't know. He is nice looking and many find him attractive

But I feel like the reason I called him a player is bc I felt like he was showing signs/ flirty when I never really knew him. When I did start to believe that he may actually like me I found out he’s already talking to someone. She was showing him off more than he was showing her off at the time. They were not official yet.

Then I found out he was a bit attracted to a girl I know and used to be friends with some time ago.
