Guys, How can you tell if a shy guy does not like you?

How can you tell if a shy guy does not like you? There is this guy at work I kind of like but we do not really speak with each other. A lot of people say shy guys will avoid eye contact and will be really quiet, nervous and fidgety around you when they like you. But he does not seem super nervous, he seems more aloof and kind of standoffish. I have seen how he is with both guys and girls and he is really friendly with all of them, just not with me. Also, I think some of my coworkers are picking up on the fact I have a crush on him. They have been acting weird lately and they were about to ask me a question in a very cryptic fashion but chickened out at the last moment and said, "Nevermind." I think they were going to ask me if I had a thing for that guy. But I was wondering, if they can tell I have a crush on him even if we do not really speak to each other, is there a chance they either told him or he just picked up on my feelings and maybe that is why he is being standoffish? I just want to know so I can move on. So how does a shy guy act when he knows you like him but does not feel the same way?

I would say as an shy guy if i don't like you and don't have feelings for you i would be normal around you yes would have ignore you if you would constantly look at me.

I wanna ask you something that do you both regularly have eye contact? Like more than normal? Do you find him looking at you when you aren't looking at him? Does he get nervous around you? Like he would act cool but you can see on his face that he's acting to be cool.

Shy guys make it hard for you to tell if he likes you. You'll have to ask him out or something along those lines to know for sure. I'm an extraordinarily shy individual around women, so I would know.
