Do guys only wish happy valentines day to their crush or do they wish it for their friends/colleagues too?
If a guy says "Happy Valentine's Day" to you, it could mean a few different things depending on the context and your relationship with him. Here are some possibilities:
- Platonic: If you have a purely platonic relationship with the guy, wishing you a happy Valentine's Day could be a friendly gesture, like wishing someone a happy birthday.
- Romantic interest: If the guy has romantic feelings for you, wishing you a happy
- Valentine's Day could be a way for him to express his affection and let you know he's thinking of you on this special day.
- Cultural observance: Valentine's Day is a widely recognized holiday and wishing someone a happy Valentine's Day could simply be a polite way of acknowledging the occasion, regardless of any romantic feelings.
It's important to consider the context and your relationship with the guy to understand what his message might mean. If you're unsure, it might be best to directly ask him what he meant by the greeting.

It is a polite thing to say on hearts day, like Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, stuff like that.
If it is followed up by a Rolex, a Mercedes then it might mean a bit more than saying it in passing.
there are all short of talks like wish your parents and siblings happy valentines because you love them too, in obvious cases like these it just means you love them platonically.
and to be frank, i dont buy it from non-obvious cases. like if a guy friend who know not to be gay wished me valentines the first idea that i'd get is "wait a minute does he have feelings for me"
I've had married and taken men wish me a happy Valentine's day, in a friendly, courteous way of course... so take that a grain of salt.
They are probably just being nice or considerate. The best way to judge is see if he say that to other women as well.

They usually tell everyone the same thing... Don't take words as meaning much... I used to have a colleague who would tell me "I love you" everyday after work and I would say it back, it honestly doesn't mean much lol

More info? Are you dating? Talking to him every day? Once a week? Once a year? If he is out of nowhere wishing you happy V?
If latter one that he is simply wishing out of being kind. This is his hint to you that he already likes you. If you also have the same meaning, reply him that he can establish a friendship and continue to develop.
It just means happy Valentine’s Day. It’s like telling someone Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays.
It's just a greeting.
It's not meant exclusively for a specific person.
Lots of people greet me for Valentine's Day and so do I.
means the occasion has came up when he's single, not necessarily wants to get together. It is just romance in the air
I think he's being friendly. I've seen guys say it to friends
They can say it to anyone. Are you planning ahead for this event, haha :D
It's just another day we celebrate. He's gonna have to say he likes me, I'm not a mind reader.
I'll do wife and family and reply "the same to you" if someone else says it.
I just see it as 'have a nice day' and it just so happens to be Valentine's day...
It would normally mean nothing, especially without context
It means he is interested in plunging his engorged manhood inside of you :)
You're 37 and you don't understand how Valentine's day works still? Jeez... universe pls help this woman when she has real problems.
Prob not much. I’d think it’s just as friendly as saying merry Christmas
It could just be a friendly gesture. I tell my co-workers because I know how women are when it comes to this day.
Strangers? A festive “Hello.”
Guys who know I’m single? “Good luck trying to find a girl this year.” lol

If he doesn’t know you real well, and if you’re not together, its probably just celebrating the day because it’s called Valentine’s Day
mostly only to the ones they lust over and have not told them yet...
it's all good clean fun
