Traditionally, men are more rough and tumble with each other because that's how they bond. The offensive insults and even mockery is part of how we build trust in one another; I'm comfortable enough with him to make fun of him and know it won't escalate, and he can tease me about something else and I'll laugh it off. The horseplay allows us to let aggression out without being destructive or hurtful.
Traditionally women were kept outside these circles because women are seen as fundamentally different. Not less, you understand, just different. I'm not saying women can't be 'one of the guys', or that a woman who participates in the masculine behaviors is somehow less feminine, but I think men understand- or believe- on a deeper level that men and women are two sides to the same coin, similar but different in subtle ways. Plus, man usually see women as beautiful things, beautiful in a way that we can never be, so they are to be treasured and taken care of, as their emotions can be fragile and their bodies smaller than ours.
Again, I'm not painting these differences as standard or all-encompassing, as I know there are many different outliers and reasons; this is just how I see it.
Lol there’s this guy I know who went to Harvard and he’s kind of a dick and competitive with other guys but with me and other women he’s like so sweet and stands up for us lol
He sounds like a decent dude!
Lmao I guess. It just had me wondering because I’m not as impressive as him education wise but he’s still so respectful
women are competitive too but in a different way compared to guys
because guys know how guys are and guys know how women are
