Why do guys get picked on for being sensitive and feminine?

Like I don’t get it. If a guy loves to do more cutsie feminine activities what’s wrong with that? Masculinity is hot but it doesn’t mean you have to put feminine interests by the wayside. If you enjoy it who cares if it’s viewed as “girly”

This isn’t an issue when girls enjoy more masculine things like sports for example. Why the stigma?

Because society has double standards for men. Women can do say be screw etc anyone they want with impunity and if it transgresses previous era social norms it’s either illegal to care or so unlikely as to not be worth noting. If men don’t follow rigid standards that have been conditioned into us from childhood the deviant aberration is mocked isolated attacked and at minimum socially and financially destroyed. Someone who actually cared about gender issues would care about BOTH gender’s issues, but somehow I don’t see that happening anytime soon in the modern left.

Maybe we should ponder about what is meant with sensitive and feminine. Cleaning the floor? Washing the dishes? Taking care of the baby? Knitting? Body language?

I guess you can all picture Sylvester Stalone's figure, and there is a science fiction movie with him as main strong masculine police character. The amusing scene is when Stalone is sitting quietly knitting some scarf, and stating that although not knowing why he's doing that he still finds the activity relaxing. Imagine the strong guy with knitting-needles in his hands instead of a big gun ;0) Well, the man still does not seem ridiculous, at most a bit odd because we're not accustomed to see him like that.

Guys still feel unconfortable doing something supposedly feminine because society wants guys to show off masculine in order to fit the cliché of the strong masculine male... There's work here for psychologists ;0)

Many people don't think the same way sadly, and like with female things, this is "ingrained" in us by society right from birth. It's not "manly" etc. And a lot of women are turned off by it also, even when they say or think they aren't, they are. It reminds me of the show King of Queens (ever seen it?). Carrie wants Doug to be more emotional and sensitive, but when he does it, she's really turned off by it lol. I think that's is the reality for many women if that were to happen with guys. But I agree with your thinking and it should be the case, as with the things women do that aren't "feminine".

Literally everyone cares, especially women. Most women do not choose men who are effeminate, introspectively sensitive, or otherwise weak. They simply don’t respect them. There’s a place for guys like that, it’s called the “friend zone”. Ell oh ell! Sad but true! To whatever extent men want to be with women, they’ll avoid that stuff in their presence.

Society doesn't care for men and only likes us for our utility. If we're viewed as too weak then we're not useful to society anymore, usually only women get to have the privilege of doing what they want without judgment in terms of gender roles.

I'd wearing dress and putting on making as a boy, but I learnt I can't do that because I am expected to lead and protect. Whenever my sisters were in danger I had to man up and fight. I can't be a sensitive pussy; I have to be a man for my family.

Its mostly about body language. If a man likes make up and ballet but he's got confident masculine body language, whos gonna complain?
