somepeople just don't like texting, so you get the bare minimum, as opposed to the phone.

It can be very hard to express tone and emotion through text; the use (or absence) of punctuation can really alter how a message is received, versus hoe it was intended.

Some folks are just really bad at messaging as well.

But if he's perfectly capable of showing emotion on calls or in person, I would give him the benefit of the doubt and perhaps try to give him some tips on texting, perhaps he's just never had anyone bring it up before and as such, is completely unaware it's even an issue.

I’m talking about my boyfriend. Recently, he uses texting just to check out on me saying “hi” and that’s it. Yesterday I wrote him a cute message saying i love u and i think of u, his reply was “ hi”. I don’t know if this is normal or no but he acts so normal boyfriend on calls. It seems like there are two characters of him, the cold guy on texting and the normal boyfriend on calls

Oh. Yeah that is odd. Is he a busy person? Like, does he work long hours, or play a lot of video games? It could be (just throwing it out there) that he's not even fully opening your message and just sending an automated response; my phone (android OS) shows a notification with a text at the top of the screen, and I can swipe down and it will generate a response that's super basic and not remotely detailed; I tap again, and it'll send it. Or I can actually type a response and send it from the notification menu, instead of opening the full app. Do you think he might be doing that?

Yes he works for long hours. 12 hours a day but he wasn’t like that at the beginning of our relationship? So what should i do? Should i take a revenge on him

Yeah it's odd, but holy shit you cannot intentionally hurt someone you care about just because they do something odd. That's just toxic. Like, really toxic.

Judging what someone is saying besides the hard facts and main points on texting is counterproductive to any relationship. There is too much room for error and "what did he really mean here". The fact is most of the accurate communications come through nonverbal communication such as body language, pitch, tone etc.

The best way to communicate is still making time for the one you love so that most of your time communicating is face-face in exact same location. To do otherwise to invite confusion and destructive interpretations as we insert our own experiences and reads onto what another is saying.

The best way to find out this information is to spend more time talking to him (preferably in person 🥰). We all have an innate desire for physical companionship, which can't be replaced with other methods of communication.
