Why would a guy say we’re alike?

I know this guy in person and we used to be friends, years ago. I told him we couldn’t date because we were too different but I said this last year. He recently said we’re alike. I always regarded us as opposites. I have Asperger’s and I don’t pick up on social cues.

I asked out a girl last week for the same reason. Guys see mates with the people they're in tune with. I think he's into you, just dropping hints indirectly.
