Was this a red flag?

my boyfriend watches netflix on his ps5. i was over at his house while he was watching netflix and i asked who's account was he using. he said it was his and i grabbed his controller and tried to look at the profile. as i was going to look at the account name he quickly changes it and says its not his but some family member and tries fighting me for the controller. i never got to see whos account it was cause i couldnt get to the menu but at that point he had already took the controller away from me. i know this is a light issue but his reaction to me checking whos account it was scared me

This is a great example of creating a problem when there is none. First of all, why did you ask who the account belonged to? Why does it matter? Second, he gave you an answer which you obviously didn't believe so you grab the controller to see the name on the account? Why in the fuck would you do that? Last, you should really examine your behavior right now, because he is going to end it if you keep it up.

Not a red flag but there are 2 takeaways:

- the question was absolutely fishing for problems. (Even if it was unintentional)

- it only became a problem when he lied. (The potential red flag you're looking for but don't mark it)

He shouldn't lie about minor stuff and you should probably not try to find out that way.
