I´d say it´s probably something they´ve watched in porn since gangbangs is a known porn category. One aspect could be that they´ve taken either a substance or are drunk or are extremely horny already so they can´t think clear. Probably some guys start and the other join either because they are horny and can´t think clear or because they are afraid to speak up since they´d lose their friends if they did.
So because boldest guys start the others follow to not look weak.

So if a guy loses his entire family FOREVER... a woman can claim that 10 minutes of terror means more than that.
