What's the incentive for men staring at women and not asking them for their numbers?

I get stared at a lot on the streets but I've only been approached for my number 3 times.

So my question is why do men just stare at women who pass them by? But don't say anything? It's quite uncomfortable and I get awkward when people stare at me and I don't know why. I just think "are they staring because I look strange? or have I got something on my face?"

The incentive is in the action itself. Looking at a beautiful woman pleases the senses. It is also quite possible that a man is not available and does not want anything else than look. Of course, it would be best to avoid actual staring.

If he is available it can still be a bit of an obstacle to talk to a woman just because she is pretty. I would always try to find a different reason to talk to her, like for example at an art exhibition talk about what we are looking at. Of course, that seldom works in the streets. I think it's then best to actually admit that she caught your eye because she is beautiful. It's the only thing you know about her at that point so it's honest. And then you want to know more about her which also helps make it ok as it is then not about beauty only anymore.

Studies have shown that virtually ALL men fail in at least one of the following 4 interactions with women:

We look because women are beautiful to look at. It seems like women don't understand this and I can't imagine how you don't get that.

I also can't imagine why you don't get that men don't go around asking every single female for their number. That's just insane. It's not civil. It's not normal to just run around flirting and hitting on every cute girl you see.

Lots of reasons.

My #1 reason was that I wanted to remain a bachelor. Unfortunately, my future-wife entered my world and changed all that.

There are so many more reasons, but not because I don't think a woman is desirable.

I’m not sure what you mean by incentive? There’s usually no cost to looking at someone. To be honest there’s even less reason to put yourself out there with creepy cold approaches. We’ve been told repeatedly that women don’t like being stared at, approached, talked to or asked out in public, so most men stopped. Though staring is more of a biological instinct.

Has nothing to do with balls. If you aren’t very attractive or smooth, your actions can and are often considered creepy. Guys have feelings too and can only take so much emotional abuse and humiliation.
