Is it normal my boyfriend stays annoyed at me for weeks?

So if I annoy him he stays annoyed for weeks at a time. Average is 2 weeks, sometimes it has gone on much longer like a month. During this time he doesn’t want any physical affection or anything so we basically live like friends.

I get sexually frustrated and feel alone during times like this. Feeling like I have no boyfriend at all. He will still talk to me but it will be blunt and clear he’s still annoyed.. I don’t know if this is the norm for relationships or not?

That's definitely not normal. It sounds like the two of you either have a communication issue, or he's trying to 'punish' you by with holding affection.

What kind of stuff is he getting annoyed about? And how does he express his annoyance initially and in the days after?

I don’t think it’s a communication issue cos I always apologize and ask him to fix things or can we make up. I’m always extra nice to him if he’s annoyed. Stuff like if I annoy him by asking a stupid question. It’s kind of always small things really I don’t do anything major like lying or cheating haha! He basically just gets angry at the time and tells me he’s annoyed or that was a stupid thing to say etc. Then in the weeks after he just stays annoyed like blunt talking to me, no kissing cuddling, nothing and won’t have sex with me.

If he's acting out like this over small stuff, not even trying to talk about it beyond insulting you, and withholding affection, he's being abusive. Someone who cares about you will want to communicate and work things out, not demean you when you make them upset.

Like we do talk about it and I say sorry and all that but he still stays annoyed and says he doesn’t know what would help fix it or get over it

Even if they're impulsive reactions, it's still not healthy for you to be in a relationship with someone that acts like this. You've given him opportunities to express himself, you've tried being patient, and you've given him honestly more time than he deserved

Relationships are a compromise that everyone in them agrees on. And if you're getting abused by him, regardless of why, then you don't need to accept that as a compromise. You should leave him, he isn't good for you.

No, this is not normal and if he hasn't grown up yet, he likely won't. Find yourself a mature man because trying to tell him how immature he's being is going to lead to months of silence.

But what does he get out of it because he also misses out on sex with me and just affection in general. I don’t get it

No. He sounds immature. A mature person would want to talk things out and move past the incident.

We do talk about things and I apologise but he still stays annoyed for ages and says he doesn’t know what would make him get over it

Oh okay. Well, if that’s the case, he still sounds immature. Think about it. Why would someone hold onto to anger if you’ve talked about it and apologies have been made? I can’t stand people like that.

I honestly don’t know either. I get over things fast enough. I try ask him is there anything I can do to help and he says no. But like I still don’t really understand why he stays annoyed so long
