The guy I like rarely initates text conversations; however, if I text him first, he will respond almost immediately. I haven’t talked to him in a week now because I haven’t texted him first. Is this a sign I’m not important to him, or is he waiting for me to reach out again?

have you talked to him about it?
No. We’re not dating or anything. Seems like a girlfriend conversation. Plus I’m not even sure he likes me in the same way.
I think you need to change your mindset
How so?
have actual conversations with him instead of walking away without knowing what's going on
It’s a complicated situation. He’s my age, but he’s a friend of my dad. If I say something and it goes the way I fear it will, it will be awkward for both of them. My dad is the best guy in the world, and I don’t want to put him in a position to lose his friend or make things weird.
