Am I being ungrateful or is this creepy?

Question

Since I moved to a new place, I am getting to know it and today, I asked one of my acquaintances what’s the best place for annual check up here.

Now, that person told me, he will take me there and he will pick me up in the morning.

Firstly,

1. Can’t he just say what I asked, without kind of forcing me to go with him?

2. Why did he decide I am going there tomorrow morning? (I just asked about the information, so I’d know about it when I have a free time and he’s setting an appointment for tomorrow 🤣 Is he in his right mind?)

3. I told him “I’d rather go alone once I decide to go but thanks for offering your help”,

he then messaged me “I will take you, if you feel embarrassed with me, you can treat me a dinner later.”

What the hell, he’s just an acquaintance, why does he turn my question about the annual check up into a potential dinner?

I feel like some people have no boundaries at all.

Why would I want to go with him, how did it occur in his mind. I just asked a question as I am new here.

Am I being ungrateful or is he just too creepy?

I just asked him what was the best place with the best service to foreigners. That was all. I haven’t gone into any details.

I just wanted to know what’s the best clinic (is that a right word?) for checking general health. Don’t you check your health yearly? I think, it’s something everyone should do.

I just got creeped out that instead of answering my question he decided to somehow take part in it and even decide when to set an appointment for me.

You have every right to be concerned. You don't know him and he could be a creep for all you know. I wouldn't go with someone I didn't know either. He could just be trying to be nice, but still, you don't know that for sure. Even if he thinks you're attractive and wants to get to know you better, that's still too assertive insisting he takes you. He should have more respect. At least you're not one of these stupid girls that would go. I had a friend once that used to do stupid things like that all the time and get in trouble.

Let's just call it creepy. He might have good intentions, but he doesn't seem to be listening to you and that's not great. Feel free to reject and distance yourself from this guy. It sounds like he's making you uncomfortable.

If I were him , I would have told you where the clinic was and then said " If you'd like me to help you I will " , I don't know what he's upto , he is only an acquaintance , I think you are being extremely reasonable , he is forcing his assistance on you..

I'd probably just say " Its a personal issue , and I'm fine getting there on my own.

Sounds creepy to me. Also very controlling and self-centered, and completely out of contact with the world as we know it. It sounds like the world has not yet popped into 3 dimensions for him, with the realization that he is not the center of the universe and the universe rotates around him as the focus and center.
Long story short, you are within your rights to decline, and he's just too creepy to associate with. Ask some other people and you'll probably get better advice and answers.

It sounds like right away, he’s trying to turn it into a date, when you just wanted some information.

I don’t think you’re being ungrateful.

He’s being very forward and ignoring your question—and is instead dead-set on going on a date with you.

He doesn’t sound like the kind of guy that knows when no means no.

I’d be cautious around him and ask for help from someone else that genuinely wants to help.

Dinner part makes it a little weird, but offering to take you to the doctor is a reasonable thing to offer, since you're new to the area.

The guy doesn't seem to pick up on social clues of why his actions would seem a bit too forward though.

You're reading too much into this, I fear. He knows you're new in the area and he's being friendly, offering to help you locate a doctor by taking you there. He may also want to get to know you, and helping you out is generally a good first step.

Yes it is Creepy, So just try to be Polite and just to ask to go by Yourself. Try to tell a Family Member about it or someone that your close to and trust ask if they can with you.
