He ghosted me after being nice to him?

After sitting next to him (he was nervous, always staring, and always close), I wanted to break the ice. But the next day, he didn't sit next to me as expected, despite having free chairs, and mine was free too (we take the same train). I don't understand why he stared for 2 months, and then when I tried to give him hints, he treated me this way. It was obvious he was into me; he was watching what I was doing every time we met, which convinced me that there was something between us. This is making me sad, to be honest.

I'm assuming that's the case: he enjoyed the chase or looking at you, but when you returned the interest? The thrill is gone so to speak, and he loses interest-

I could be wrong- maybe once you sat close to him, he decided you're not his type.

Basically don't stress over it. Especially if you didn't know or like him that well

most likely he got a new partner so he stopped his interest in you. less likely but possible the looking was not due to interest in you. just your style and looks not attracted to you.
