The first thing that comes to mind is that maybe he's lonely, and you were nice and attentive to him so he confided everything in you. Maybe he's going through a bad time in his life and has no one else to talk to.

And maybe you give the vibe that you're an emotionally understanding person, so people tend to open up to you. Like he feels that you'll hear him out and empathize with him.

I would suggest you just tell yourself "Not my problem" and let happen what's going to happen. Because a) You'll basically get emotionally sabotaged into fucking, or b) you'll be dealing with that sui-fun-times 2 or 3 times a week trying to talk him out of it. Focus on where I said "at some point" because that point... when it happens... that's going to be when you're sick and tired of that bullshit. Either because he has no one else to confide in or because he doesn't want anyone who truly knows him to know those things, as it may change their perception of him. Sometimes it's easier to talk to a stranger, because no matter how they react, there's no risk of it affecting your life. You can just simply stop talking to them without consequences.
