This isn't unusual in my experience - while most girlfriends have liked my face shaved, most have wanted the rest of me either natural or trimmed. I had a girl who asked me to shave bare for a while like she was, but after a couple of months, she asked me to grow it out and just trim.

Few women actually want a smooth man. I'm not saying that NO women want that, but certainly the majority does not. They want you to BATHE and be clean and smell fresh (well, some don't even want that!), but they don't want smooth men - they don't find it masculine.

It's according to what type of beard hair you have. My dad had an extremely rough beard, but when he shaved, his skin was smooth. Only when his stubble was out was his beard irritating because it was rough. I think most men's beard stubble is fairly soft, as are their beards. The high testosterone guys, like daddy, are the sandpaper beard group!

There's nothing you can do about your body hair type, except maybe apply hair conditioner. You know, a partner who loves you is very forgiving about minor flaws such as this. If someone demands you remove all your body hair because it "feels rough," something's wrong with them. I've never heard of anyone bleeding from rough hair. You need to relax about this.

If it bothers you so much and you are rich and have a high pain tolerance, get electrolysis or laser hair removal. But you're talking about several thousands of dollars. However, in the long run, you'll spend that much on shaving equipment or waxing away hair. The latter aren't permanent. The former are.
