Some men will lie, steal and cheat to get things from a women. That is why getting to fully know a person takes time and a lot of vetting. Not all men are like that but some are.

Why do women lie to men about being interested only to go on a few dates, spend their money and then ghost them? Men are not owed sex and women are not owed relationships.
It's entirely possible that a serious relationship is what the guy wants but the woman has too many dealbreakers, so he hits it and leaves (sometimes that is all she wants too).
